Calgary Modern Quilt Guild – 2026 Round Robin We’re excited to launch the 2026 CMQG Round Robin, a fun activity that will bring our guild together through creativity, collaboration, and a healthy dose of modern quilty surprise! 🧵 Calgary Modern Quilt Guild — January Block Lotto Crumb Blocks! Dive Into Those Scrap Bins! Happy New Year, CMQG makers! 🎉 To kick off 2026 with creativity and colour, our January Block Lotto theme is crumb blocks — a spontaneous, scrappy piecing technique that transforms tiny bits of fabric into vibrant quilt blocks! Each block will be 6.5″ x 6.5" and we'll be focusing on our cool colour scraps. Pick a single colour-way for each block - either blue, green, or purple. Whet

Our Blocks for Good project continues into the new year with another fun scrap-busting block. Scrappity Do Dah is a cheerful design that uses 5” squares and 1½” strips, making it a great way to use leftover charm squares and binding strips. As always, donated blocks will be sewn into a quilt to be gifted within our community. Blocks will be collected at CMQG meetings in February, March, April, and May 2026. Blocks will be assembled into scrappy quilts once collected. Fabric

Block Lotto is back in October! We are thrilled to announce our October Block Lotto - Wonky Modern Trees. If you've been around for a while, you'll recall this is a guild favourite and was a popular block lotto back in 2017 and 2022.
