Your Design Could Be the 2027 QuiltCon Community Quilt!

Calling all Calgary MQG members.  We’d love your ideas!

The Calgary Modern Quilt Guild will be creating our Community Outreach Quilt for QuiltCon 2027, and we’re inviting guild members to submit design concepts for consideration.

As announced at the June meeting we will be choosing our colour palette and quilt design at upcoming in person meeting on July 16.  We’ll review the submissions together and vote on our favourite design.

Design Guidelines:

• Theme: Half-Square Triangles (HSTs)

• Finished quilt size: 60” × 80” minimum to 65” × 85” maximum

• Colour palette: Please use one of the approved QuiltCon Community Outreach palettes (or both if your design incorporates them).

No matter your design experience, we’d love to see your ideas. A simple coloured sketch, digital mock-up, graph paper drawing, or quilt design software rendering are all welcome. To submit, email your design submission to calgarymqg@gmail.com, please title your email “2027 Community Outreach Design Submission”

Please submit your design before our meeting on Thursday, July 16, we will have the designs printed for the guild to choose the design.
