Guild Leadership 

Quilting since 1978 and longarming since 2008, she's been hooked on all things fabric for decades. Now happily retired, life revolves around stitches, colour, and creativity. Favourite colour? Purple—no question! Home includes a big red dog with a big personality, and unfortunately, no cats (thanks to allergies). Every part of the quilting process brings joy, but binding is her real superpower—always hand-stitched, always made with love.

Krista is an appliqué aficionado, quilt designer, and proud dachshund lover. Over the years, she’s rescued eight dachshunds (and one mutt), filling her home with furry companionship. When she’s not stitching up beautiful quilts, Krista is on the Board of Alberta Dachshund Rescue, advocating for her beloved four-legged friends and helping to find them loving homes!

Always up for trying a new quilting technique, especially if it involves cool blues or soft grays—just don’t ask her to use beige or brown. When she’s not stitching, she’s likely paddleboarding or hanging out with Max, her loyal standard poodle.

Kim Brown keeps the Calgary MQG running smoothly as Secretary, bringing organization, attention to detail, and a friendly presence to every meeting. She's the one making sure nothing gets lost in the shuffle—except maybe a fabric scrap or two!

When she’s not keeping minutes or keeping us on track, Kim can be found at her sewing machine, piecing together her next quilting adventure. With a love for clean lines, clever patterns, and community connection, she helps stitch the guild together in more ways than one.

A devoted paper piecer (is there any other kind?) with a passion for design and a flair for hot pink. Also a proud cat rescuer—five adoptions, 30 fosters, and a board role at a favourite rescue. Quilts, cats, and creativity? Yes, please!

Phil is a Kiwi who blends her love of barbershop harmony with fabric and creativity. When she’s not handling membership duties for the Modern Quilt Guild, she’s being outwitted by her three delightfully unhinged Devon Rex cats. Quilts, chords, and chaos—just another day in Phil’s world!

Born in Calgary and raised in the mountain magic of Banff and Canmore, she brings creativity, structure, and a big dose of community spirit to everything she does. Kate fell head over heels for quilting in 2022 and hasn’t looked back—especially when half-square triangles and a little shimmer are involved. When she’s not quilting or planning fabulous events, she’s probably deep into a romance novel… or fabric shopping (because no, she doesn’t have too much—she just shops faster than she sews!).

Ronnie is the heart behind the Calgary MQG’s Community Giving projects—bringing people together to turn fabric and thread into meaningful gifts for those who need them most. A longtime executive member and former VP (2020–2023), she pairs her leadership skills with a deep commitment to quilting for a cause.

Whether organizing a charity sew day or pitching in behind the scenes, Ronnie stitches compassion into everything she does.
