The change of weather has us thinking about all of the fall and winter goings on we've planned, and it's a busy one.
Our September Community Giving sew day was a success - we finished a quilt top plus lots of progress on other blocks and kits. If you're a guild member, you can register for upcoming events on our website.
We've distributed all of the QuiltCon Challenge Community Quilt block kits, and are looking to have them back at our October meeting. We're also looking for a longarmer to quilt the top. Please email us (Calgarymqg@gmail.com) if you are interested.
During our October meeting, we're excited to see the results of our summer "Rip and Strip" challenge, and collect any of the Intersection blocks that are part of our "Blocks for Good" program
October is also a big month for the international MQG, of which the Calgary MQG is a part. The 2023 Mini Quilt Swap sign-ups are open until October 14th and the MQG Sessions is occurring digitally from October 13th to 16th
We're going on retreat! Beautiful Canmore, Alberta is our home for 2 days of sewing and community. Our first annual retreat is scheduled from October 22nd to 23. Details here.
Later fall activities include a second block lotto, where one of the participants takes home all of the blocks to use in a quilt of their choosing. We'll also have our traditional year end exchange, which will be announced at an upcoming meeting.
