We have lots of ways of participating in the Calgary MQG this year! While that's good, we know that can be overwhelming at times. This is a handy guild to all of the block programs going on:

Block Lotto - You make a block (or several) and receive a ticket for each block in exchange for a chance to win all of the blocks
Who ends up with the blocks - We draw from all people who submitted blocks and that person receives the blocks. We'd love to see your finished top back within a year
Fabrics used - You supply the fabric, based on the block instructions. We try and offer a options so that you can draw from your stash, but please use quality quilting cotton.
How long do I have to make blocks? - We usually run block lotto for one month.
Blocks for Good - All of the blocks benefit our Community Giving program, which creates quilts for a number of charitable and non-profit entities.
Who ends up with the blocks - Our Community Giving Committee, who turn them into quality quilts
Fabrics used - You supply the fabric, based on the block instructions. We try and offer broad options, so that you can use up scraps, random fat quarters and other goodies hanging around your sewing space. Quality quilting cotton appreciated.
How long do I have to make blocks? We usually run Blocks for Good for 2-3 months. If you can't make a meeting, let us know that blocks are on their way.
Block of the Month - Part of our 2025 Year of Colour and Design. A block is released each month, with a suggested colour.
Who ends up with the blocks - You do! They're your blocks to do what you like with
Fabrics used - You supply the fabric. We have a suggested colour scheme using Kona cottons, but you're free to substitute prints, other colours or combine colours into your own unique quilt!
How long do I have to make blocks? - Make any or all blocks at your leisure
2026 QuiltCon Community Challenge Quilt - In mid-2025, we'll start to create a guild quilt that will show at QuiltCon 2026. It's a group project, and so we appreciate help in sewing the blocks.
Who ends up with the blocks - The Guild does. The guidelines for the Community Challenge quilt specify that the quilt end up with a community organization, so if you know of an amazing one who'd love a quilt for a special place or fundraising, please get a hold of us.
Fabrics used - We supply the fabric, and only ask that you return blocks within the timeline provided.
How long do I have to make blocks? - Usually one month, but the distribution and return time periods will be specified.
