Where did our past Block Lotto winners go?

As you likely know, we offer out block lotto approximately 4 times per year. This is a chance for you to make one or more blocks, receive a draw ticket for each block you make, with the winner of the draw taking home all of the blocks that are created. We've had four block lotto draws since we moved back to in-person meetings, and we thought it would be fun to see some of the final results!

First up, Phil, who won our first block lotto, which was introduced in August 2022. The white pumpkin block was a super cute one, and we received a lot of entries! The finished quilt, with a layout and quilting by Phil, is a very modern and seasonal quilt!

Next, our second block lotto, the wonky trees block in a fun stormy fall palette was split due to the overwhelming number of entries we had, and was won by Karin and Margaret. Karin had a number of quilts at the Heritage Park Festival of Quilts, and her version of wonky trees was showcased there. The layout and quilting is her own.

Our third block lotto was the Puzzle Patch block, one of the MQG Blocks of the Month, offered out in a fun springtime palette of bright floral colours. Although the MQG program that brought us blocks of the month has been discontinued, members still have access to all of the archives, and so we were able to use the pattern and instructions for this month. Faye won all of the blocks, and arranged them in a colour fade pattern. We adore how she arranged them!

Our fourth block lotto, the Plus Sign block, in the classic combination of blues and stripes was won by Katie. She's embarking on an overseas move, but we hope that the blocks bring good wishes for her future from the Calgary MQG. We'd love to see what she makes from them!
