Welcome to our new look at the Calgary MQG!

It's hard to believe that our first guild logo contest was eight years ago! The stylistic cowboy logo was designed by Louise P, and served us well as we navigated being a young guild, a couple of different meeting spaces and a pandemic. It was a logo that served us well for many years, and we want to thank everyone who was involved in the design and selection process.

With the increase in social media avatars and print / cut on demand product that weren't easy to use with the new formats, it was clear that it was time for a refresh of our logo.

The new Modern Quilt Guild brand colours added new inspiration and a fresh new colour palette to reference.

We held an open competition in our early 2023 meetings, and one of our member's family members had a fantastic design that referenced the Rocky Mountains, and echoed the half square triangles and colour palette of the MQG. Many, many thanks to Andrew Cornwaithe for his contributions to this project and to Lisa R for making the connection to Andrew. Many, many thanks also to member Phil for incorporating the logo into our website and social media presence seamlessly.

We're hoping to have print-on demand options soon, but before we do, take a look at the cute project pouch that was part of a parting gift for our social media co-ordinator at a recent meeting.
