Coming Soon -Heritage Park FOQ

Spring looks like it finally might be here - the days are lighter, the birds are returning gardens are being planned and we're all busy finishing off quilts before the Heritage Park Festival of Quilts.

Guild member Sharon H has been working ahead on one of the workshops for that weekend - the Starlines Quilt with instructor Stacey Day. The class descriptions indicates that the pattern is perfect for fussy cutting, and Sharon's used Tula Pink fabric to great effect. You can register for the workshops here . Note that the workshops are put on by Heritage Park and the Festival of Quilts Committee, and not the Calgary MQG.

There will also be lots of modern quilt goodness to see! Guild alumni Cheryl Arkison is the Quilter of Distinction this year, and we're excited to see a retrospective of Cheryl's work. There will also be a special display of Modern Minimalist quilts, and we're looking forward to see how everyone interprets that theme.

Finally, no big quilt production happens without lots of help! The Festival of Quilts committee is fortunate to have dedicated and passionate quilters who volunteer to plan, organize and hang the show. They are looking for both weekend of support and ongoing members to join the committee. If you're interested in volunteering during the weekend, the form can be found here. Information on the committee can be found on their website. Volunteer roles with the Festival of Quilts are separate from the Calgary MQG.

All of the info for the show, including General Admission information can be found here. We hope to see you there!
