We've revisited our community giving program so that there are fewer, but more defined projects being worked on. This means less "inventory" for our community giving co-ordinator to store, and more quilts that are targeted to the groups that receive our quilts.
On any given month, we're collecting blocks for one of two programs - Blocks for Good, in which all of the blocks are incorporated into community giving projects, and Block Lotto, where each block pieced earns a lotto ticket, and the winner (or winners) of the draw get to keep the blocks to create a quilt. We'll have an update on our block lotto winners in a future post. If you'd like to contribute, our current Blocks for Good is Round 5, the Modern Maples Block.
We also have an incredibly generous guild, who piece blocks, organize them into colour schemes, piece tops, cut batting & backing, longarm, bind and label our quilts. All of our efforts are co-ordinated by member Ronnie, who keeps us all on track.
We also know it's important to know what happens to the asks for blocks and the hours put into laying out and longarming quilts. With that, we have a revisit of our July contributions.
