We’re so excited to have our first (hopefully) Annual Retreat at Canmore Inn and Suites this year! Saturday, October 22 - Sunday, October 23, 2022. Here are the details!
Book, and pay for your own hotel room, (or other accommodation) we have reserved the ballroom so you can sew all night, or as late as you wish!
Primarily Open Sewing - sew what you wish.

QuiltCon Community Challenge Quilt sewing opportunities.
The first “Blocks for Good” will be collected at our October meeting. These will be available for assembly into a community giving quilt, with the opportunity to make more.
Left, Right, Center game with Ruby Star and/or Cotton & Steel fat quarters (5 fat quarters to play)
After paying your deposit, you will receive access to a special retreat section on the Calgary MQG website forum, where you can arrange roommates, discuss dinner plans, carpools, and maybe even plan some extra sewing time on Friday.
If you are showing active signs of covid and/or have tested positive, you will not be able to participate.
We will not be able to offer refunds if you are unable to attend due to covid.
If there is time, it may be possible to transfer.
We will follow all local and provincial requirements in place at the time of the event.
Paid deposit will hold your place.
First come first serve.
No refund, but transferable. It’s your responsibility to find a replacement. (We will keep a waitlist available if full)
Your deposit of $50 is due by August 28, as we need to commit to Canmore Inn and Suites by Sep.
Final Payment of $100 due Sept 23. (Total $150, plus your hotel and meals)

Cost: $150 per person for use of the ballroom for the 2 days. If there is enough interest we can look at options for renting space on Friday as well. Options might include renting ballroom space for an extra day, renting a meeting room, or smaller groups gathering in hotel rooms, or perhaps a suite. In order for our retreat to go ahead, we need a minimum of 12 people, and can accommodate a maximum of 23 people
Hotel rooms: You are responsible for booking and paying for your own room. Once we have enough members confirmed, and we are certain we can move ahead with the retreat, we will receive a booking code from the hotel. The prices they have given us are per room. $89 for 2 double beds on the railway side, up to $125 for 2 queen beds on the road side. Various other rates are available in between. It is up to you how many nights, and where you stay. You could stay at Air BNB, another hotel, your own RV, or go home for the night.
Meals: Continental breakfast in the lobby is included with your room booking if staying at Canmore Inn and Suites. Lunches and dinners are on your own, but there are many options. Other groups bring snack-type food for lunches, maybe food to share, and then go to local restaurants or order food delivery for dinner. We are able to have outside food in the ballroom.
Beverage station in the lobby, but we may set up our own. (Bring your own mug)
Amenities: indoor pools, hot tubs, free parking.
Round-the-clock sewing – if you wish.
