Summer Programming Preview

The Calgary MQG Programs over the summer! Here's a preview of what we have in store:

We're kicking off our 2024 QuiltCon Community Challenge Quilt next week, with a Zoom meeting Thursday, June 30th at 7pm. Join us to discuss ideas! Criteria for the quilt are:

• The quilt has to be 60-65" wide and 80-85" long, and rectangular

• The colour scheme is consistent across all guilds/groups, with the theme of symmetry

• The quilt is meant to be worked on as a group. If there's improvisation components, please think about how a larger group could execute the design

Here's a preview of our July and August Meetings

• July will have a very exciting make and take activity! While we don't usually ask for meeting RSVP's, sign-ups are required for this meeting to make sure we have the correct supplies.

• In August, we'll have a feature on adding orphaned blocks to garments and sewing zippers to make zippy pouches. If you have done either of these things and want to present to the group, please let us know. We have a couple of demonstrators, but they are our usual suspects, and more people presenting makes for a more interesting guild.

Our fall retreat dates have been announced! We'll be back at Canmore Inn and Suites from October 13-15. The fall retreat sold-out last year, and while we were able to accommodate one visitor with a cancellation, priority goes to members. Registration opens in the late summer / early fall.
