Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Guild Newsletter

  • Meeting photography

  • Instagram

  • Facebook

  • Website

  • Tech/Zoom

Community Outreach Committee

Committee Roles and responsibilities include:

  • ​

  • Provide the newsletter editor with any information required for the monthly newsletter at least two weeks prior to that month’s meeting.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

Committee Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement diversity, equity, and inclusion practices for the Calgary MQG. 

  • Provide the newsletter editor with any information required for the monthly newsletter at least two weeks prior to that month’s meeting.

Membership Committee

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Welcome new members to the guild and provide support

  • Attend meetings and manage the sign-in desk

  • Coordinate door prizes to be given out at meetings (as membership keeper of the list)

  • Collect membership dues and guest fees to remit to the treasurer

  • Assist in distributing materials to members

  • Record attendance of members and guests at monthly meetings 

  • Work closely with Treasurer to maintain an accurate and current roster

  • Coordinate nametags and annual nametag prize draw

  • Co-ordinate MQG pin distribution

  • Provide the newsletter editor with any information required for the monthly newsletter at least two weeks prior to that month’s meeting.

Programming Committee

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Actively recruits member or guest speakers and teachers for special Guild programs and workshops with a focus on modern quilting 

  • Research, suggest, and plan meeting content, including teacher and speaker visits sponsored by the guild. 

  • Coordinate at least 2 workshops/classes annually for members

  • Provide the newsletter editor with any information required for the monthly newsletter at least two weeks prior to that month’s meeting.

Show (Special Events) Committee

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Actively recruits member or guest speakers and teachers for special Guild programs and workshops with a focus on modern quilting 

  • Research, suggest, and plan meeting content, including teacher and speaker visits sponsored by the guild. 

  • Coordinate at least 2 workshops/classes annually for members

  • Provide the newsletter editor with any information required for the monthly newsletter at least two weeks prior to that month’s meeting.

Swaps and Challenges

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate at least 3 annual internal and/or external guild swaps, round robins, etc.

  • Coordinate door prizes to be given out at meetings (maybe under membership, as they are the keeper of the attendence lists)

  • Coordinate any Fabric lotteries

  • Coordinate any MQG challenges

  • Coordinate at least 4 block lottos annually

  • Provide the newsletter editor with any information required for the monthly newsletter at least two weeks prior to that month’s meeting.

Sewcial Committee

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate pub-nights

  • Coordinate sew-downs

  • Coordinate small groups 

  • Retreat committee

  • Provide the newsletter editor with any information required for the monthly newsletter at least two weeks prior to that month’s meeting.
