Want to participate in QuiltCon 2023, even if it's not possible for you to go to Atlanta?
The Modern Quilt Guild has three exciting challenges that you can participate in.
First up is the Community Outreach Challenge, and this year's theme is colour shift. The Calgary MQG will be designing and creating a group quilt using one of two colour schemes - dark teal to lime green or eggplant purple to pink. This is a guild challenge, so stay tuned for further details on how to participate or check our events page for planned meetings
Next up is the Windham Ruby+Bee Fabric Challenge, featuring a fabric palette chosen by next year's featured speaker, Chawne Kimber. She selected a gorgeous array of blues, oranges, and an off-white from the Ruby+Bee Solids line by Heather Ross and Annabel Wrigley, which must be used in the creation of the quilt. This is an individual challenge and quilts will be juried into QuiltCon. More details can be found here.
Finally, the 2023 American Patchwork & Quilting Modern Log Cabin Quilt Challenge lets you play with a classic quilt block - the log cabin. Whether your log cabins start with a square or another shape, have curved or straight edges — stretch your quilt design skills in this challenge! This is also an individual challenge, and quilts will be juried into QuiltCon, More details about the challenge can be found here.
